About CITI2.0
With the goal of expediting the growth of Kozhikode, emphasizing economic, social, and infrastructural development, the Calicut Information & Technology Initiative (CITI) was established in the year 2008. Founded with this ambitious agenda, CITI owes its inception to the foresight of the Malabar Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the untapped potential within Kozhikode's unique ecosystem. Building upon the success of CITI, which played a crucial role in attracting two cyber parks to Kozhikode with the unwavering support of the Malabar Chamber of Commerce, Calicut Innovation & Technology Initiative (CITI2.0) emerged with a more aspirational mandate in the year 2020.
TAt its core, CITI and its successor, CITI 2.0, share a collective vision — to create a vibrant innovation and technology-centric ecosystem elevate Kozhikode to the status of an aspirational hub in emerging India. CITI 2.0 aims to achieve short-term objectives that include generating 10,000 jobs within two years and 100,000 jobs within five years. Additionally, the initiative seeks to create an additional 10 lakh square feet of space for the IT sector. The goal is to elevate Kozhikode to the status of an Aspirational city and reclaim its prominent position on the global business map. CITI2.0 envisages to nurture its current business ties, with a particular focus on the Middle East, aspiring to transform Kozhikode into a 'digital gateway to the world.' Achieving these objectives necessitates effective collaboration with major pillars such as Academia, Industry, and Government, alongside other supporting pillars already cultivated by CITI. CITI2.0 is a thus a unique conglomeration of such organizations joining hands for the development of a city.
